Major Responsibilities:
- Food and beverage items are plated, delivered and served in an appropriate and attractive manner on time for specific functions
- 1) Tray cold items for catered functions.
- 2) Set-up, deliver and serve the functions ordered
- 3)Attend area meetings and inservices to ensure effective communications
- 4) Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying customer needs and exceeding customer expectations
- Function is promptly cleared following the end of the meeting or event
- 1) Clear functions promptly at the end of an event.
- Catering equipment is cleaned in the appropriate manner and secured in the appropriate storage area.
- 1) Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils and equipment used at catered functions
- 2)b) Secure dishes, utensils and equipment in the appropriate storage area.
- Safety regulations regarding the handling, operation and transportation of equipment is observed.
- 1) Prepare and serve food meeting the hospital and Health Department guidelines for food safety
- 2) Report equipment malfunctions to coordinator or manager
- Participate in the department’s Performance Measurement Plan to improve key processes and key result areas.
- 1) Be an active participant in the team initiatives to improve key processes, key result areas and customer satisfaction
- 2) Collaborate with hospital departments and fellow associates to meet customer expectations
- Stocks paper, china, food & beverage supplies for entire cafeteria
- Performs food service worker or assistant cook duties when catering services are complete
Education/Experience Required:
- • HS or equivalent • Six months to one year experience • Ability to follow instructions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- • Good communication skills • Good public relations skills • Ability to read and follow a recipe • Minimum lifting requirement of 25# pounds

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
- • Catering staff do a considerable amount of lifting (up to 30# - 40#) and pushing heavy carts. • Catering staff spends 100% of their time on their feet, either walking or standing. • Transfers hot pans to chafers.
- This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
