Position Requirements:
Associate's degree in electronics computer or biomedical equipment technology, or equipment training/ or equivalent experience
Two or more years experience working on anesthesia medical equipment and systems. ~Good communication skills.
~Courteous and professional interpersonal skills.
~BASIC LIFE SUPPORT.
~COMPLETION OF NATIONAL CERTIFICATION EXAM Ability to work in fast paced enviroment with established time constraints.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
Ability to recognize needs of specific patient age groups.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or lifting 10 to 20 pounds constantly.)
Ability to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays as determined by the needs of the division.
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 04/20/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

To assist in providing quality patient care in a manner which is focused on the surgical patient, technically appropriate and cost effective. The Anesthesia Technician 2 works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Clinical Manager, Registered Nurse and Anesthesiologist within guidelines of Illinois Nurse Practice Act as well as the mission and philosophy of Christ Medical Center, Advocate Health Care. The Anesthesia Technician 2 works in collaboration with the Assistant Clinical Manager and Anesthesiologist as partners in the care of the patient. The Anesthesia Technician 2 recognizes the needs of patients of various ages and provides appropriate service.

Technical Projects and Other Duties
Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies, equipment needed for the care of the anesthesia patient:
Participates in the preparation of the OR suite for admission of patients, under the supervision of the Assistant Clinical Manager, anesthesiologist or designee.
Patient care support functions:
Responsible for collaborating with health care team to provide for a cooperative work environment:
Maintains professional growth and self development:
