Workforce Data Engineer

Job Profile Summary
The Workforce Strategy Data Engineer will be responsible for enhancing the data architecture of the Workforce Strategy & Analytics team. They will assist with product ownership of the database warehouse and partner with other key people to expand our data architecture, optimize data flow, and deliver impactful findings. In this role, the Workforce Strategy Data Engineer will have the key skills required to manipulate and shape data quickly.

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of data infrastructure tools and pipelines for data transformation for HR projects and initiatives. This includes implementing process improvements, automating processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Design and build the infrastructure for data that feeds our self-service tools, dashboards, and scorecards. Ability to apply the most relevant method to solve function needs while balancing data quality and project timeline.
• Develop and maintain complex matching logic systems and stored procedures for merging data. Can quickly identify and resolve issues related to data matching and merging.
• Collaborate with consultants, analysts, business partners, and leadership to understand data needs. Serve as the data lead for project work. This requires the ability to review and assess requirements to produce data specifications. Anticipate project needs and actively collects information and resources.
• Ensure team member and HR data is protected and secure. Document data workflows.

Education/Experience Required:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, math, industrial management/engineering or related technical field. Years of Experience: Five years of experience in data warehouse space, data engineer role, and/or business intelligence

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
* Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. * Strong knowledge of database architecture and modeling, including database objects, stored procedures, views and SSIS packages * Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. * A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets. * Design, develop and manage data warehousing and reporting solutions using Workday and SQL Server * Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to interact effectively with individuals at varied levels of responsibility and authority. * Able to mentor other team members by upskilling and giving actionable feedback
