Behavioral Specialist

Positive and Behavioral Interventions and Support Services (PBIS) needed within an organization serving adults with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and physical disabilities in the community. PBIS services are provided to clients who have significant behavioral difficulties and have had inappropriate or maladaptive responses to events in their environment. PBIS Staff aim to decrease the intensity or frequency of targeted behaviors, and to teach more socially appropriate behaviors. Individuals are located within the Hudson Valley PBIS workers are paid hourly per session. Sessions typically run up to 4 hours per indivduals. Must have own transportation and be willing to travel to the indivdiuals's home for sessions. Travel time and mileage reimbursement is available .

Education/Experience Requirements:

Must be one of the following:

• Licensed psychiatrist
• Licensed psychologist
• Licensed Master of Social Work
• Master or Doctorate Degree in Psychology
• Registered Physical Therapist;
• Registered Professional Nurse;
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor;
• Master Level Certified Special Education Teacher;

OR

• Licensed Clinical Social Work
• Licensed Behavioral Analyst
• Bachelors Degree in Psychology
• Bachelors Degree and be a Certified TBI Specialist

Must have 2 yrs experience developing and implementing intensive behavioral plans. The PBIS must successfully complete forty hours of training in traumatic brain injury, behavioral analysis, and crisis intervention techniques which is provided by the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support Services Program. The Program Director will provide ongoing training and supervision to the Behavior Specialist. Experience must be clearly outlined in resume for consideration.
