You can make a difference in the life of someone special! Advocates is looking for a creative and compassionate Mentor (1:1 support staff) and teacher to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him safety skills while in the community, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. Some behavioral support is required for the position. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required.
Hours and days of work
Tuesday/Thursday (9am to 4pm)
Pay rate: $18 per hour
Location: Manlius, NY
