The Site Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) is responsible for managing the clinical services and operations of the program at one of Advocates PES community based locations, to ensure effective and continuous service delivery.

Minimum Education Required: Master's Degree Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to program Shift Supervisors and a caseload of clinicians.
- Provide ongoing clinical and administrative monitoring of fee for service/per diem clinicians.
- Coordinate and oversee the scheduling of all clinicians to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Coordinate and oversee the Administrative On-call schedule. Participate in On-Call rotation and provide Administrative On-call coverage by pager on nights and weekends and respond within 15 minutes via phone to answer questions or assist with problems.
- Coordinate and oversee program internships.
- Schedule and facilitate staff meetings on a regular basis.
- Assist the Emergency Services Director in managing employee personnel issues and ensure corrective action plans are implemented.
- Authorize and process program staff’s time sheets and mileage.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing and hiring process.
- Oversee program clinicians training, including initial training and ongoing in-services.
- Liaison with other medical staff within Advocates and with other outside treatment providers.
- Schedule and deliver presentations on program’s services within the community on a regular basis to market services.
- Oversee accuracy and completion of billing, encounter forms, and other required paperwork.
- Ensure program’s utilization statistics are maintained.
- Coordinate the development of crisis plans for frequent service utilizers and high risk clients.
- Educate staff about internal and external policy and procedure updates.
- Ensure effective flow of feedback between clients, staff and management.
- Participate in program quality management activities and conduct chart audits.
- Attend and actively participate in necessary internal and community meetings.
- Assist the Emergency Services Director and BH Leadership team in the oversight of fiscal operations.
- Review, investigate, and respond to feedback/complaints from clients, families, community members and professionals, and identify opportunities for staff and program improvement.
- Provide psychiatric and substance abuse evaluation of individuals and families in crisis in community, clinic and hospital settings as needed
- Provide crisis intervention services including crisis case management and short-term crisis counseling as follow-up from initial evaluation as needed.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Education, Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related counseling field.
- At least three years of experience with target population (inpatient, outpatient, residential experience in working with consumers with mental health/substance abuse issues acceptable) and 5 years supervisory experience. Prior emergency services experience preferred.
- Current independent license with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
- Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
- Working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
- Excellent assessment, interviewing, crisis intervention, and documentation skills.
- Strong leadership, supervision, administrative and customer service skills.
- Personnel management experience and demonstrated commitment to maintaining effective communication with staff and customers to facilitate and promote effective working relationships and customer service.
- Solid presentation and project management skills.
