What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training and Development Manager position at Advocates?
The Training and Development manager is responsible for driving programs from conception to creation to on-going maintenance and continuous improvement. The Training and Development manager applies their expertise in adult learning to ensure effective, efficient capability building that targets critical skills and behaviors that drive success and meets compliance requirements while integrating Advocates culture throughout. Primary areas of focus are core training and learning support.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Responsibilities:- Supervise training operations team ensuring high level of customer service is provided at all levels of the organization. Provide supervision meetings and training opportunities to direct reports.
- Deliver trainings to employees using a variety of instructional techniques. Trainings to include CPR/First Aid, crisis intervention, and additional trainings as required.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement through observations, assessments, mentorship, and coaching of facilitators. Ensure facilitators maintain appropriate credentials and certifications to conduct trainings.
- Assist in the creation and development of training curriculums. Ensure trainings are designed and implemented equitably and inclusively, including coordinating with the communication access team to meet the Communication Access Policy.
- Manage the implementation of new and ongoing training and development initiatives/programs.
- Provide final edit, write narrative and distribute monthly Training Calendar.
- Manage Learning Management System. Create and maintain all Training Plans. Review and report on monthly compliance data.
- Monitor MAP trainings needs across the agency. Recruit staff for sessions, coordinate classes w/MAP trainers, DDS, managers and students, and monitor progress.
- Assist with MAP Zoom sessions, Pretest Day and Test Prep sessions, as needed.
- Coordinate and proctor MAP state certification testing.
- Serve as a member of the Training Collaboration group.
- Attend and actively participate in trainings and maintain all required certifications including certifications for train the trainers.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
- Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
- Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates’ Human Rights Policy.
- Perform all duties in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.
- BA in Education, Human Services or related field preferred. 3-5 years’ experience in training or learning and development.
- Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills that engage adult learners.
- Must have strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office- PowerPoint required. Familiarity with or willingness to learn to use Learning Management Systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must possess ability to multi-task in fast paced environment and maintain a professional level of customer service at all times.
- Demonstrated project and program management experience: organization, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must hold a valid drivers’ license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle to travel between sites.
Salary : $58,500 - $74,100
