Job Description
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for a Civil Engineering II to be based in New York, NY.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing storm water drainage systems, roads, highways, and other infrastructures and performing analysis using modeling software.
- Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced civil engineer.
- Gather and correlate basic civil engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple test.
- Propose approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Identify discrepancies in results.
- Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Perform all the task necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
- Lead civil drainage, grading, alignment, sanitary, sewer alignment design.
- Perform climate resiliency and flood behavior analysis.
- May telecommute.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Civil Engineering Technologies or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Position requires:
- Sanitary and storm water hydraulic calculations and modelling;
- Site development and grading;
- Plan production in AutoCAD;
- Flood analysis and modelling;
- Sediment and Erosion Control design;
- Storm water Management design;
- Inter-disciplinary coordination; and
- Review of technical reports/drawing for multiple discipline.
- Hydraulic modelling; and
- Stormwater Pollution Protection/ Water Quality Design
