What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Scientist position at AECOM?
AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in the Charlotte, NC office to support our industrial asbestos/lead/mold program which includes inspection, design/plan, and abatement oversight. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills and experience with asbestos and/or lead surveys/inspections.

Tasks will include:
Preparing reports and other technical documents.
Compiling, evaluating, and analyzing environmental data
Conducting asbestos surveys
Conducting lead paint inspections
Conducting mold / indoor air quality surveys
Conducting universal and general hazard inventories surveys
Travel within a geographic territory conducting inspections; travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays
Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, or closely related field and 2 years of experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid driver's license
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
4 years of experience in environmental consulting
40-Hour HAZWOPER training
Asbestos Certifications (Inspector, Project Monitor, NIOSH 582, Supervisor and Designer)
Experience with Lead Paint Inspections and Indoor Air Quality Inspections
DOT and RCRA Training
