AECOM is seeking a dynamic Marketing Specialist in the United States. This opportunity offers a flexible combination of remote and in-office work, and the Marketing Specialist will periodically need to be in the AECOM office. As an integral member of AECOM’s National Governments team, the Marketing Specialist contributes to marketing, business development, and internal and external communications initiatives by collaborating with cross-disciplined and geographically-dispersed teams focused on U.S. federal government, Canada federal government, and international development clients and projects.
The successful candidate will be a high-energy, reliable, and enthusiastic team player who is excited by the opportunity to be part of a company delivering many of the most iconic and impactful infrastructure projects around the world.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Contributes to marketing and communications materials in static and print formats as well as interactive and digital formats. Deliverables may include brochures, presentations, social media content, conference materials, webpages, industry award submittals, press releases, interactive PDFs/ ePubs, and videos.
- Supports execution of our team’s participation in industry conferences and events, including end-to-end event planning. Manages events calendar and forms; tracks costs; coordinates attendee and speaker participation; supports sponsorship and marketing activities; manages booth logistics; writes event recaps; and assesses ROI. Manages booth/ exhibit displays and logistics, including inventory of materials, ordering supplies, and physically shipping from the AECOM office. Coordinates closely with event organizers, vendors, hotels, and AECOM colleagues. Provides on-site support for 1-3 major events per year, and/or virtual events as needed.
- Contributes to social media program, including posting and monitoring content, and supporting campaigns, written content, graphics, and analytics.
- Supports thought leadership initiatives: manages year-long calendar and works with the leadership team and subject matter experts to identify and track speaking and publication opportunities; develops and submits abstracts, articles, blog posts, and presentation decks; and hosts rehearsals/ reviews; while interfacing with industry organizations, associations, clients, and teaming partners.
- Supports and grows industry engagement and community engagement efforts.
- Updates website content using WordPress and internal company intranet content using SharePoint-based content management system.
- Contributes to internal employee communications program, including managing distribution lists, coordinating work plans, and creating content for web-based all-hands meetings, email newsletters, articles/ announcements, video messages, event promotions, etc.
- Works with both branded and customized templates and graphics for client presentations, webinars, conferences, thought leadership, awards, email marketing, and other internal and external communications initiatives.
- Completes research projects and other special projects as needed.
- Contributes to marketing team libraries for collateral, communications, graphics, templates, etc.
Depending on the successful candidate’s skillsets and interests, additional responsibilities may include:
- Photography, including employee headshots; industry and inter-office events; thought leadership and speaking engagements; project sites; etc.
- Videography, video production, and editing.
- Graphic design and multimedia design.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, event management, or a related discipline or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong project management and organizational skills: expert multi-tasker with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and work effectively on a variety of projects concurrently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail that ensures accuracy and quality of work.
- Highly collaborative team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong writing/ copyediting skills a plus.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of marketing, communications, and event planning best practices and tools.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Acrobat).
- Working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Google Docs, digital whiteboards, etc.
- Knowledge of and interest in the A/E/C industry and AECOM’s markets, capabilities, clients, and competitors.
