Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Planning professional to join our Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) team in Anchorage, AK. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering environmental planning, facility siting, impact assessment, permitting, and mitigation planning services to our key clients. Our EPP team serves numerous federal, state and local government, non-governmental organization, and private industry clients, delivering a variety of resource management, infrastructure, and development-related projects. The role would include managing projects or tasks to: (1) develop siting and routing studies for linear facilities; (2) prepare federal and state permitting documentation (including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements); (3) lead Subject Matter Expert teams developing technical studies; (4) conduct topic-specific analysis, as appropriate. The role also would include supporting business development activities, such as proposal writing efforts. May serve as a project manager, deputy project manager, task manager, or technical specialist depending on the project assignment. Assignments include interacting with agencies and public.
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
Providing environmental planning and permitting oversight, authority, and accountability for projects.
Serving as a Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager on different size projects, including financial management and reporting, subconsultant oversight, and technical staff management.
Overseeing multiple projects simultaneously within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
Responding to a variety of ongoing requests to support projects under our existing contracts, including refining task needs, scoping and costing tasks, and identifying and assigning staff.
Engaging in business development activities and pursuits. Prepare effective technical proposals and take an active role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Providing leadership in mentoring personnel, including reviewing their work for accuracy and clarity and providing constructive feedback on project tasks.
Participating in professional associations/events relevant to the industry.
*This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients (in-person and virtually), and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in environmental planning or related field.
6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in NEPA document preparation and related technical studies or hazard mitigation plan document preparation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in environmental studies, sciences, or related field.
10 years of experience in environmental planning, including facility siting, permitting, community engagement, and impact assessment (analytical/technical writing) for NEPA or similar requirements.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of competence and experience in working with teams, clients, and subcontractors.
Exceptional detail orientation and attention to quality.
Experience managing environmental compliance projects or programs, requiring coordination of interdisciplinary teams, management of budget(s), and meeting schedule(s).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to effectively manage tasks and interact with teams of staff, subconsultants, and clients.

Offered rate of compensation (Alaska locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $129,000.
