About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.
AECOM/Tishman has a unique opportunity for a Civil/Structural Construction Project Manager to assist with pre-construction and other specific duties for our ongoing heavy civil construction project on the Wind Port of New Jersey.
- Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
- Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
- Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
- Responsible for administering the project from the pre-construction budgeting/schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related curriculum and 8 years of relevant experience in civil construction and structural analysis or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred:
- 8-10 years of experience with preconstruction, bid packages, proposal writing and other construction documentation.
- Preview experience communicating with clients, agencies, subcontractors or other interested parties.
- Ability to create/update schedules as necessary using Primavera P6.
- Experience in working on superstructures and heavy civil construction projects.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
- Professional Engineers license (P.E.) preferred.
- Marine construction (wharf, port or other marine construction) highly preferred.
- Experience in heavy civil construction for earth moving projects.
- Prior experience in pre-Con construction phases.
- Experience in design within construction management
- Experience dealing with Clients, preferable within a government entity.
- Responsibilities for deliverables preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
