Position Purpose
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the business unit, including financial performance, operations, and sales. This role involves formulating and implementing strategies for sustainable and profitable growth. The General Manager oversees lab operations, supports staffing requirements, manages all subordinates to ensure they thrive, develops fiscal budgets, regular revenue and EBITDA forecasts, approves expenditures, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety programs. Additionally, the General Manager collaborates with other Aegeus teams, handles contract negotiations, maintains business records, and is accountable for the division's economic performance and safety. The General Manager is also responsible for understanding and ensuring that all California labor laws are followed to mitigate lawsuit risks. Furthermore, the General Manager leads strategic planning, fosters customer relationships, monitors performance, drives innovation, manages risks, and develops talent within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee office operation as a whole• Develop and implement business development strategies to expand market presence and drive growth• Formulate the annual business plan and budget and monitor adherence• Responsible for developing and achieving fiscal budgets• Regularly monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against business objectives• Prepare and present regular performance reports to the Regional Manager and executive team• Approve all lab expenditures• Responsible for division Profit and Loss statements and economic performance• Responsible for division payroll and accounts payable• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety programs, and California labor laws to mitigate lawsuit risks• Responsible for HR, Safety, Quality, and Radiation Safety program compliance, and all statutory compliance• Work in conjunction with the entire staff to continue operating an extremely safe and quality driven facility• Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty• Handle high level customer inquiries and issues, providing effective solutions and maintaining a positive company image• Work hand-in-hand with the operations, sales, contract, and management teams in identifying strategic targets and pricing strategies• Contract review and negotiation• Manage, direct, and support Project Managers at assigned evergreens• Support Operations with required manpower and equipment staffing requirements• Recruit and retain top talent to ensure the growth and success of the business unit• Manage all subordinates to ensure they thrive, including employee retention, review, and individual development• Develop and implement training and development programs for employees to enhance their skills and career growth• Plan for succession in key roles to ensure business continuity• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies• Implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and service quality• Identify and mitigate potential risks to the business unit, including financial, operational, and compliance risks• Develop and implement risk management strategies and contingency plans• Ensure that all assets and equipment is accounted for and its location is known at all times• Provide senior management with quick and accurate answers to their questions• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and community organizations• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings• Perform job walks and site visits as necessary, including job file auditing and safety audits

Knowledge and Skills
• Ability to interpret and understand financial reports• Experience in an industrial, nuclear, petrochemical, refining, or utility-related environment is required• Prior experience in the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) industry is preferred• Must possess an understanding of Aegeus’ technology offerings• College coursework is highly desirable but not required• Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a track record of successfully managing a business unit or division• Effective communicator with the ability to mitigate emotional customer and employee situations• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills• Ability to develop and implement business development strategies• Strong customer relationship management skills• In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including safety, quality, and environmental requirements• Familiarity with California labor laws and regulatory compliance requirements.• Proven ability to recruit, retain, and develop top talent• Ability to provide senior management with quick and accurate answers to their questions• Advanced proficiency in using business management software and tools, such as Microsoft’s Office suite, ERP systems, and CRM platforms• Strong leadership and team management skills• High level of organizational and multitasking abilities• Valid driver’s license
Education and Work Experience
• 8 years of managing fleet, equipment, inventory, and shop personnel. • 5 years of NDT experience preferred to be able to understand equipment, calibration, and consumables needed.• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Working Conditions
• The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.• For field site visits, the physical environment requires the employee to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather. Required of use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and working environment.• For field site visits, may occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.• Overtime may be required during the week and weekend with work volume.
