Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with mental health conditions. This position requires a strong understanding of various counseling techniques and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Duties:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based counseling techniques such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral, and applied behavior analysis
- Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans for patients
- Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment in a timely manner dictated by Insurance company requirements.
- Provide direct support to patients in managing their mental health conditions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Utilize a multiple therapy techniques to serve as therapeutic intervention for patients
- Offer clinical counseling to individuals with chronic pain or geriatric mental health needs
- Utilize assessments to track clients progress
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mental health counseling principles and techniques
- Proficiency in conducting psychotherapy sessions
- Experience working with diverse populations providing: individual, family, collaborative and marriage counseling.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis and its application in mental health treatment
- Understanding of psychopharmacology and its role in mental health management
- Ability to provide direct support to individuals with diverse mental health needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and compassion for individuals experiencing mental health challenges
