Manual Machinist - 1st or 2nd Shift - (1088)

The outlook for the company is strong as it continues to set higher goals for sustained success.   Position Summary The Manual Machinist will support manufacturing in the Flow Prep area by lapping, grinding and manual milling and lathe work.   Essential Functions ·         Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, tooling sheets and operation sheets to produce complex finished product. ·         Make tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary. ·         Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments, including OD & ID indicating gaging, indicators, micrometers, height stands and verniers. ·         Perform daily TPM responsibilities. ·         Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required. ·         Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes. ·         Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.   Competencies ·         Must have strong mechanical aptitude ·         Ability to analyze and solve problems ·         Excellent attitude and teamwork ·         Able to meet established standards   Experience and Education ·         Previous aerospace machining experience or a degree/certificate from vocational school or college program is a preferred. ·         High school diploma or equivalent required.   Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.   Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
