What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dealership Technician position at Aerotek?
Description:
The Validation technician will be working on validation of the Vehicle Diagnostics tool which is used by dealership technicians in the field to determine what electrical repairs are needed on a customer vehicle, As a technician, you get two cars a week assigned to you. The technician plugs in an MDI (multi – diagnostic interface) , runs down the list to validate all aspects of the vehicle (Radio, steering wheel buttons, window buttons work, any electrical component of the vehicle). If there’s an issue, they write a TSS case to the Diagnostic Development Engineers who will then try to figure out the issue and then send it back to the tech with instructions on how to fix it. The tech will then fix it on the computer and then perform a test drive before it gets sent out.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Required Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Teams/SharePoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
- Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
- Good written and oral communication skills necessary for case documentation, meetings and presentations
- Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
- Partners with management to analyze and solve issues
- Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
- Familiarity with automotive electrical and mechanical concepts - 3 years’ experience
- Relevant auto industry and/or software validation experience preferred
- Areas of expertise include: Quality, Testing and Automotive systems
Required Education/Training:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree or equivalent training
- ASE certification preferred
