Responsibilities:
Design Manager/ Architect:
- Serve as system architecture SME and as main point of contact on assigned projects for all design-related questions, and provide technical expertise and guidance, from inception through design, construction, and turn-over phase.
- Manage and coordinate projects, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct periodic quality control reviews to assess compliance and address any deficiencies or deviations. Perform QAQC of project interim deliverable packages (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC).
- Ensure adherence to design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder / Client / Team Coordination:
- Foster positive and collaborative relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams, including cross-disciplined engineers (C/S/MEP/LV), stakeholders, and contractors to drive solutions, develop comprehensive project plans and design strategies.
- Stakeholder coordination for Space Planning and Data Collection for Space Programming and the development of design standards. Provide support in the development and maintenance of design standards and guidelines as needed.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and progress reports, effectively communicating project status, issues, and recommendations.
Construction Administration:
- Conduct project site visits as required for monitoring progress, quality, adherence to design standards, and turnover acceptance/Punch List as Owner’s Rep.
- Provide oversight, address, and resolve construction-related issues and change orders as required, making informed decisions that balance design intent, cost implications, and project goals.
Contracts:
- Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts and agreements with contractors, consultants, and/or suppliers.
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Master preferred), Architecture or Environmental Design or equivalent
- 10 plus years of experience in overseeing Owner’s Capital Development projects in either medical (clean room), industrial, or scientific laboratory facilities, through entire project life-cycle, from inception to turn-over.
- Demonstrated experience in construction administration and management for Type I and II Construction types (ground up, new construction), and/or Remodel/Tenant Improvement of medical, science laboratories, industrial projects.
- Clean Room experience in terms of ISO Classes (ISO Class 1 to ISO Class 4)
- Knowledge of the following:
- Various codes (IBC, ADA, NFPAs, etc.)
- CSI specifications coordination (All CSI Divisions 1 to 33)
- 3D BIM clash detection
- Sustainable design principles
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Sketch Up, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio, SharePoint, OneNote, Azure, Revit, CAD, Navisworks, Photoshop, In Design.
- Ability to read and decipher technical reports, Code Analysis report, geotechnical, environmental, and all drawing disciplines (MEP/S/C/LV, etc.)
- Excellent time management, effective communication in both verbal and written, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Architecture Licensure preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
