Aevum is seeking an Human Resource Generalist to be responsible for all applicable regulatory compliance (state, federal, and internal policies). The HR Generalist facilitates human resource processes and runs the HR functions in Aevum's Denver office. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and benefits providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resources Generalist makes certain that plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including HR project management, record-keeping, and data entry.

The HR Generalist provides proper support to the upper management team as requested and reports directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate is academically astute, inquisitive and relentlessly focused on mission success. This is a fast-paced, mid-level career position.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000/year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Run the daily functions of the human resources (HR) as a part of a cohesive team consisting of members from all walks of life
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for all company policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate upper management. 
  • Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. 
  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs
  • Conduct with new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications 
  • Assist and process employee terminations
  • Recruit and interview candidates to meet company's hiring objectives
  • Coordinate interviews for hiring managers and interviewers
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
  • Provide clerical support to the HR function
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 2 year(s) of HR experience

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of HR principles, practices and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and/or HR software
  • Demonstrated ability to be trusted with confidential, classified, proprietary, or export-controlled information/data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous HR experience in tech industry, tech startup is a plus
  • SHRM-CP certification a plus

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • As needed, must be willing to work extended hours and occasional weekends.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
