We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Propulsion Engineer to join our team.

As a Senior Propulsion Engineer, you will:

  • Review system architectures, hardware requirements, designs, assembly procedures, test plans, procedures, and data of Commercial Crew Vehicle Propulsion Systems to ensure approaches are sound, component/material selection is appropriate for the intended usage and suitable for the proposed application.
  • Provide recommendations for program acceptance of requirements verification, testing, and hazards.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements to system architectures, hardware requirements, designs, test plans, and procedures if disparities/deficiencies are identified.
  • Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from test data.
  • Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.
  • Travel as required in support of technical reviews and exchanges.
  • Work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other work features that are broad in scope and complexity.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 10 years of spacecraft propulsion experience with a focus on mechanical aspects.
  • Experience in the design, assembly, testing, certification, and operation of space propulsion systems and components.
  • Experience coordinating space propulsion systems requires verification and validation between multiple organizations.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, testing, and office software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
  • Confident in knowledge and experience and able to discuss propulsion topics with subject matter experts.

Requisition Preferences:

  • Familiarity with the NASA Engineering Life Cycle process.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and may be expected to have a related master's degree and typically possess 10-15 years of related experience.

Work hours:

Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.

Security Clearance:

For most positions at Aeyon, a candidate must have or be able to obtain a company sponsored security clearance. A security clearance is like a background check. Although the security clearance process involves several stages, the key steps to obtaining and maintaining a security clearance are pre-investigation, investigation, adjudication, and reinvestigation.
