Role: Monitor Technician
Location: Newark, NJ
Contract Duration: 13 weeks contract with a possibility of extension
Pay Rate: $29/hr
Work Schedule: 40hrs/week
Shift: 11pm - 7:30am
COVID VACCINE AND FLU SHOT REQUIRED
REQUIREMENTS:
- BLS required
- 1 year experience
- Valid Picture ID, Nursys
- Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Observing and interpreting patient's heart monitors and checking for abnormalities, including irregular heartbeats, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest
- Attaching electrodes to patient's bodies and recording electrical impulses from the heart to perform EKGs
- Using hospital equipment and medical technology to perform various tests on patient's hearts, such as stress tests
- Recognizing and responding to any abnormal conditions in patient's heartbeats
- Interpreting test results and reporting any changes in heart readings or EKGs to Doctor or Nurse in charge of the affected patient
- Updating patient's records with all readings taken from the heart monitors or EKGs
- Cleaning and maintaining heart monitors and EKG machines
- Reporting any necessary equipment repairs in a timely manner
- Assisting with the training of new staff in medical monitoring systems
- Delivering quality patient care services
