The Ag Services Lender is key to developing new Ag Services relationships through business development efforts with a focus on lending while retaining and growing existing relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with existing and potential customers while providing superior customer service.

  • Identifies prospective clients and implements plans to develop and retain ag loan business, meeting with prospective clients and customers of various sizes and complexity to achieve business development goals and promote additional bank services to our current clients.

  • Evaluates loan requests by interviewing ag loan customers to develop information concerning their experience and financial situations, reviewing farm operations, regular on-site visits, and timely communication.

  • Follows current loans to ensure conformity to terms and awareness of developing trends.

  • Gives advice and counsel to customers and prospective customers and promotes additional business for the Bank.

  • Represents the bank in the community through membership or participation in agricultural and farm organizations.


Required for this position: Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills. Strong attention to detail, understanding of lending, ability to identify missing items, advanced organizational skills, ability to work under deadlines, independent thinking, analytical skills, self-motivation, strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated teamwork.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 year college degree or related work experience

  • 3-5 years Ag Lending preferred

  • Knowledge of agricultural banking products and services

  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills

  • Understanding of credits and debits

  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail required

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs with working knowledge of Word and Excel

  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed

  • Team-oriented and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization

  • Service-oriented, polite, and respectful

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to take direction and instruction and follow through independently until project completion


HOURS:

Regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Some extended business hours.
