A full service Ag Company is seeking a skilled individual to join their team as an Agronomy Salesperson. This is a multi-faceted and fast-paced opportunity that will place you in direct contact with farmers. You will be a trusted partner, providing agronomic advice, products, and recommendations. This position will also support operations by helping with shipping and receiving, operating equipment, applying fertilizers, and performing maintenance on facilities and equipment. Flexibility is the key in this role and could lead into the potential for seed sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Candidates with a track record of sales, with an agronomy degree are highly desired. You must have, or be able to obtain, a Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement and custom operator's license. A Certified Crop Advisor is highly preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Fertilizer Sales
- Service existing customers
- Prospecting for new customers
- Understanding needs of customers and marketing appropriate products to meet those needs to maximize company value
- Ensure all required sales documents are completed correctly
- Customer Support
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and gain insight into their needs as a guideline to offer new or additional products or services
- Communicate agronomic issues in a timely manner
- Respond to customer calls promptly
- Encourage repeat sales by enhancing the profitability of customers
- Follow up with customers in regards to account balances/payments
- Agronomy Services
- Develop the agronomy services offered by Maplehurst Farms to increase value and profitability
- Work from multiple agronomy locations, making recommendations, troubleshooting, and providing solutions
- Monitor field/crop conditions/scouting
- Attend required training and safety meetings
- Operations
- Operation of application equipment
- Blend and load Agronomy products as needed
- Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, or other to customer site
- Perform warehouse work to include: driving loader, forklift, and inventory upkeep
- Perform housekeeping inside and outside of all facilities
- Perform routine maintenance on facilities and equipment
- Other duties as necessary
