Position Summary:

The Assistant Innkeeper assists with the overall management and hospitality of the Guest House at Field Farm including daily operations and support functions. The Assistant Innkeeper must have knowledge, skills and experience in the hospitality industry and must understand and be able to manage the Inn within the parameters set by the Innkeeper and The Trustees in the absence of the Innkeeper.

The Assistant Innkeeper reports to the Innkeeper and works closely and harmoniously with the Inn's other staff. The position is regular full-time. Due to the demands of the position, the Assistant Innkeeper must be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Pay Range: $20/hr - $24.5/hr

Essential Functions:

General Responsibilities

• Ensure that all Inn procedures are followed and assist in the development of new practices to enhance guest experience, food & beverage service, and efficient operations of the Inn.
• Perform and manage all cleaning of the guest rooms and common areas.
• Prepare and cook breakfast in the absence of the Innkeeper.
• Assist with front desk operations including reservations, check-in/check-out procedures, and inquiries. Provide Concierge Service including directing guests to area attractions and help secure dining reservations when appropriate.
• Provide assistance and hospitality to group events.
• Assist with purchasing of food, beverage, and housekeeping supplies according to needs of the Inn and inventory levels.
• Assist in overseeing and maintaining grounds.
• Manage booking database software and use it to generate financial statements and marketing reports.
• Be an enthusiastic ambassador of the Trustees, promote Trustees membership and link guests to the work of the organization.
• Assist the Innkeeper to help develop the annual marketing and advertising plan for the Inn.
• Assist with social media posting.
• Brainstorm and assist in implementation of packages and retreats.
• Act as Innkeeper in the absence of Innkeeper.
• Be an enthusiastic ambassador of the Trustees, promote Trustees membership and link guests to the work of the organization.
• Assistant Innkeeper will be expected to work all weekends and will have Wednesday and Thursday off.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of hospitality
• Possess an understanding of Trustees mission and knowledge of local area.
• Knowledge of Windows based operating system and related software is required.
• Must have an unwavering attention to detail and be self-motivated with ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required
• Must have flexibility to be on call for late night emergent needs in the absence of the Innkeeper.
• The ability to lift 40 lbs., work independently, and work 8 hours on your feet.
