Job Summary:

As a Field Market Development Manager, you will be responsible and well rewarded for the ongoing success of the company through one of the most exciting, influential, and rewarding positions!

You will be involved in the development and execution of the go-to-market strategy that ensures alignment of Customer and Prospect needs with the tremendous capabilities of the ELMCO and Midstate Industrial Maintenance family of companies.

In addition to profitable revenue growth in core accounts, additional measurements of success include the expansion of our vertical market segment as well as the extension of company reach into new geographies.

The chosen {FMD} candidate will be a member of an exclusive team that supports the execution of the Market Development Manager's {MDM}strategy and multi-year business plan. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain service specifications.
  • Provide consistent and accurate sales and other reports as required.
  • Generate demand for Elmco/Midstate Services and Products within your assigned Industrial Market Segment.
  • Repetitive and frequent contact with existing and future customers to present how Elmco and MSIM can meet their needs.
  • Develop and execute a plan that drives constant contact with existing customers and key prospects at multiple levels throughout an organization.
  • Effective pursuit and capture of profitable revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain deep rooted relationships at multiple levels within a customer organization.
  • Support peer FMD's while they are on extended time away by responding to their customer calls and emails.
  • Ensure your customers are covered during your time away by arranging support from peer FMD's or respond to customer calls and emails yourself while away.


Education

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Will consider experience in lieu of degree.

Experience
  • 10 years of experience in industrial sales.
  • 5 years of experience selling to agricultural processing operations such as grain. (ADM, Bunge, Mercer Landmark, Cargill, etc.)
  • 5 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance sales and/or operations.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance of large silos, granaries, sifters, grinders, etc.
  • Marketing or Market Segment Leadership experience is a plus.


Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work in a self-directed, self-motivated capacity.
  • Skilled at cultivating strong business relationships at various levels.
  • Exceptional networking capabilities.
  • Intermediate computer skills required in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, exciting, and demanding environment.
  • Skilled with producing business presentations and reports.
  • High aptitude analytical thinker with a demonstrated history of success.
  • Inquisitiveness with a keen ability to research, learn and apply findings.
  • Excellent people management and development skills
  • General knowledge of heavy industrial markets is preferred.
  • Knowledge of grain processing operations strongly desired.


Work Location and Travel
  • The region for this position is between Fort Wayne Indiana, Toledo, Mansfield, Columbus and Dayton Ohio
  • Candidates can live anywhere within the region.
  • The office is in Van Wert, Ohio
  • This position requires extensive travel within the region.
  • Travel to industry trade shows and other corporate events is also required.
  • Overnight travel is required.

  • Extensive driving to reach customer locations.
  • Customer locations include manufacturing and/or farming facilities.
  • Conditions at customer locations may include:
    • Loud with the noises of heavy equipment
    • Outdoor climates that can be cold in the winter or hot in the summer
    • Wet, muddy, and/or slippery floors and grounds
    • Above ground elevations


Physical Requirements

Talk/Hear: Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in presentations, meetings and one-one dialogues.

Stand/Sit: The person in this position needs to sit for extended periods to drive a car to customer locations. Must be able to stand to make customer presentations.

Walk: Must be able to walk distances to tour customer facilities and projects and move about on varying and uneven terrains.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Often operates a computer to perform general office duties.

Climb: Occasionally may need to climb ladders or stairs to see customer projects.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: People in this position seldom need to stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.

See: The person in this position must see well enough to drive to customer locations, safely navigate varying and uneven terrains and view job details to make informed business reports and decisions.

Carry, weight, Lift: The person in this position must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs when attending trade shows and other industry events. Must be able to carry up to 10lbs on a regular basis to carry laptop and other essential business items while traveling.

Exposure to work: Considerable time will be spent in processing environments both in and outdoors. Environments can be loud, dusty, hot, or cold.
