Job Summary:
The Flock Specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the barns. Work involves performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled poultry related tasks in accordance with specific instructions of a well-established routine. Work is subject to general supervision through inspections and review of results of work.
The Barn Worker is responsible for following all State and Federal regulations, including but not limited to; FDA, USDA, SQF, and OSHA.
Job Duties:
• Check the feeders and waterers, maintain proper lighting and ventilation, and oversee poultry care
• Clean poultry houses, pens, feeders, water devices
• Maintain records on poultry mortality, feeding, and other records
• Check the conveyor belts, water and feed
• Coordinate with maintenance department for upkeep of barns
• Other duties as assigned
Requirement and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Varied experience in farm work preferred
• Good Communication (Written / Verbal) skills
Essential Job Functions:
• Stand and walk for 9 hours per day
• Lift and carry 20 pounds on a regular basis
• Lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
• Reach, bend, twist, climb, and lift hands above the head.
• Able to work in dusty environments and be exposed to heat/cold on a regular basis
• Able to perform job duties in low-light environment
