AGCO has an exciting opportunity for a Materials Planner to join its Materials Management team. The Materials Planner will be responsible for developing an optimized supply plan for an assigned portfolio of products.
Materials planner may be responsible for creating an overall network supply plan detailed level, an inventory plan, and a materials requirement schedule. Supporting/driving the implementation of supply chain improvement actions including tools, processes, and controls. The Materials Planner will support improvements into on time in full delivery (OTIF), shortages elimination/reduction, while maintaining the budget level of inventories, also will ensure continuous and efficient supply of finished goods (FG) products to customers, using a minimum amount of inventory to maximize efficiency targets, minimize working capital costs and conserve cash by managing stock levels.
The Materials planners need to have knowledge in inventory planning processes, order management, supply follow up, techniques, and methodologies. The position will deal with critical supply chain situations, driving actions and managing complex daily activities.
What you will do:
- Responsible for managing purchased inventory/parts, on time in full delivery rates and actions, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, minimizing obsolete inventory, reducing, or eliminating shortages, costs control including premium freight and dispositioning non-current inventory.
- Also supply network requirements and constraints in terms inventory replenishment, capacity availability and lead times, understanding of end-to-end supply chain network relationships related to the products they are planning
- Place/manage orders to coincide with supply plans from production facilities and third-party suppliers. Drive, track and divine actions to
- Manage adjustments to plans as necessary, including changes to POs, schedules, standard costing, etc. within the ERP system.
- Communication of risks related to inventory and supply plans in terms of lead time and capacity constraints for products.
- Reach agreement with sales and marketing on acceptable/equitable quantities and timing.
- Establish critical inventory parameters — such as activity-based costing (ABC) and safety stock settings, replenishment quantity and launch quantity, considering constraints and input, such as lead time and order cycle time.
- Identify possible future capacity constraints and bottlenecks in the supply base.
- Work closely with capacity planning and finished goods planning teams to ensure proper coverage and accurate schedules.
- Adjust the schedule to accommodate near-term orders that differ from the agreed sales and operations (S&OP) plan.
What you will bring:
- > 5 years’ experience in manufacture environment
- Bachelor’s degree required in related field
- Project management skills and experience in working across functions, multiple sites, and cultures.
- Quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with SAP MM; PP, LES and/ JDE is a differential.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; MS Project and Tableau experience is beneficial, but not required.
