Job Description:

Support the Process Excellence team by assessing analytical needs and preparing analysis and reports for team members and\or clients to use to achieve overall strategic objectives. Gather data from multiple systems/sources to assist with root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives. Develop queries and validates data integrity within data systems. Provide analytical support for key initiatives designed to improve operational metrics. Present analysis and provides insight into its application, relevance, and meaning with achieving organizational objectives. Provide coaching to team members in root cause analysis, the use of analytical tools, and interpretation of analysis.

KEY OUTCOMES:

  • Assess needs and create sophisticated analytical reports that are easy to use.
  • Provide recommendations from analysis to drive continuous improvements.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve all aspects of our data quality, perform root cause analysis of issues, propose solutions, and provide analytical support for those improvement efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides ad hoc and regular reporting to support continuous improvement efforts
  • Provides direct support and data consulting to end-users, assisting in the development of department-specific queries, reports or applications as assigned
  • Develops new analytical processes designed to improve performance and productivity
  • Enhances current and develops new standard reports for data that's meaningful and supportive of operational objectives
  • Conducts root cause analysis to measure process compliance, identify defects, or recommend process improvement opportunities
  • Creates and maintains a library of ad hoc report formats designed to meet the specific needs of the team.
  • Presents analytical results to team members and provides guidance on their interpretation and application
  • Provides instruction on basic analytical techniques to cross functional members of the organization.
  • Provides feedback to team members and other groups regarding information capture and data elements
  • May develop and deliver training to team members.

Requirements:

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Education: College Degree or equivalent work experience.

Required Experience:

  • 1-3 yrs related experience.
  • Strong analytical skills (through Sigma, Tableau, Excel, Access, Cognos, or other query software), relational database experience, financial modeling, project management, and communication/presentation skills.
  • Experience with report development in Tableau and Sigma an asset.
  • Experience with sampling, regression, and test planning.
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling concepts, including Multi-Dimensional modeling.
  • Understanding of Relational Database concepts, including SQL for SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of business analysis in order to define end-user requirements and to articulate appropriate solutions.
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse and software development life cycles.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous financial and database analysis experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the automotive or insurance industries is a plus

Skills:

  • SQL skills and familiarity with industry SQL Querying tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong decision making, good judgement, project management, and analytical, creative problem solving skills necessary.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with ability to deliver the required reporting and analysis within timeline and budget constraints. Ability to review end-user requests, to discern areas of ambiguity or inconsistency, and to lead discussions toward clarity.
  • Ability to identify, schedule, and communicate project priorities, deliverables, milestones and tasks.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Able to communicate with both internal and external clients and customers in clear and concise manner. Works with other analysts and cross-functional groups to identify opportunities and make them actionable. Proactively partners with other departments to provide information and feedback, analyze reports for continuous improvement and resolve issues.
