Job Description:

We are looking for a responsible Procurement Specialist to source, negotiate, order, inspect, and receive shipments of raw materials or products. You will be responsible for ensuring that shipments match the orders, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in inventory control. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Purchasing: Collaborate with stakeholders and staff to order materials needed for building unique custom machinery (robotic machinery and specialized parts). Manage procurement, negotiate pricing, monitor deliveries, provide timely and accurate reports to stakeholders.

2. Receiving and Inspection: Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt, unload packages from incoming trucks, inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged, and verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.).

3. Inventory and Record Keeping: Maintain proper inventory levels of materials used regularly, label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place, maintain accurate records, and assist in inventory control. Ensure project orders are prepared for kitting.

4. Customer Service: Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure all needs are met. Communicate issues timely and effectively; resolve issues with a sense of urgency. Ability to locate, evaluate, and secure new suppliers while maintaining expected pricing levels.

Work-Related Experience:

Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, a buyer or in a similar position, experience in purchasing/supply chain management.

Preferred Experience: Within the heavy fabrication, foundry, or machining industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
