End Date: 5/31/25. This position may extend to full time.

Overall Responsibilities
The individual will serve as the Data Modernization Lead. Primary activities include leading Public Health data modernization activities while working closely to build and enhance the organization's information technology strategic plan, infrastructure, and assets.
The individual will receive direction from the internal IT Steering Committee to support interoperable solutions for systems, linkage, or department-wide data and from community partners to support robust and healthy data governance.
Specific Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the data modernization lead that includes:
- Budgeting, reporting, developing plans, and other needed content relevant to the organization's strategic plan, infrastructure, and assets.
- Represent the organization during required meetings.
- Participate as a member of a cross-functioning IT Steering Committee.
- Lead and direct continuous improvements, updates, and changes to the IT strategic plan and roadmap:
- Modify, add/delete, assess new, and remove obsolete information related to IT systems.
- Lead and direct the development and milestones of an IT Roadmap implementation plan, including seeking input from stakeholders and leadership.
- Maintain and provide ongoing support and reporting for all deliverables of the IT Roadmap timeline and complimentary documents.
- Lead and direct department-wide efforts to develop data governance plans and protocols.
- Develop agendas, request feedback, and develop topics/presentations for monthly workgroup meetings.
- Implement IT and informatics workforce development plan activities, such as training to build and maintain technical expertise capacity.
- Serve as the liaison between activities, projects, and system owners.
Required Skills
- Project management and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of programming in Java, C, Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Two (2) years of leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Required Experience
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in public health informatics, information technology, information systems, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience with a preference in a public health setting.
- Theories and principles of organizational IT systems and application methods to public health operations.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
- Master's degree in public health informatics or a related field.
- Knowledge of Health Level 7 (HL7) standards and interoperability.
- Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
