What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Lab Leader for Metal Finishing Company position at AGS Capital, LLC?
Superior Metal Technologies, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our Paint Department as a Paint Lab Technician/Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks related to paint mixing, hazardous waste management, and maintaining the overall organization of the paint lab.
Responsibilities:
- Thinning down paints and creating touch-up paints.
- Collection, labeling, and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Organization and change-out of barrels for new and old solvents.
- Cleaning and reusing containers.
- Stocking and putting up new and used paints.
- Operating the paint auto dispensing system.
- Creating and organizing master samples.
- Spraying batch samples and filing them.
- Mixing paints to meet daily requirements.
- Making customer samples and reworking leftover paint.
- Controlling master samples on the production board.
- Managing paint inventory, ordering supplies, and scheduling production.
- Maintaining the auto dispensing machine and spectrophotometer.
- Proficient in using office software for communication and reporting.
- Leading the paint lab team.
- Identifying and understanding paint defects.
Physical Demands and Abilities:
- Use hands and fingers to operate and inspect machinery and metal pieces.
- Lift and move objects weighing 10-50lbs regularly.
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing more than 100 lbs.
- Stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Specific vision abilities, including color vision and depth perception.
- Communicate verbally with coworkers about safety and work issues.
- Tolerate working in various environmental conditions.
Requirements:
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality work.
- Past experience in paint mixing (hardware store) or blending inks.
- Proficient in using office software (E-mail, spreadsheets, databases).
- Ability to manage and lead a team.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Willing and able to pass a drug and alcohol test at any given time.
