Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision available after 60 days, matching 401k available after 1 year Job Summary: The Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet established safety and quality standards. This role involves implementing and monitoring quality control systems, conducting audits/inspections ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a strong food safety culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance:
Maintain quality assurance programs.
Conduct regular inspections of food production facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Monitor and document quality assurance activities, including testing, checks and inspection results.
Investigate and address food safety and quality issues, proposing corrective actions as needed.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all quality assurance activities.
Utilize clerical experience for accurate record-keeping and administrative tasks.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with operations teams to ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization regarding food safety and quality assurance issues.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in food safety and quality assurance processes.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and quality.
Stay informed about new developments in food safety and quality assurance technologies and methodologies.
Food Safety Culture:
Promote a strong food safety culture within the organization by leading by example and encouraging best practices.
Engage employees at all levels in food safety initiatives and foster a sense of ownership and responsibility for food safety.
Develop and implement programs to raise awareness and understanding of food safety principles among all staff.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of food safety culture initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications Experience:
High school Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in food safety or quality assurance.
Familiarity with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Deep understanding of sanitation practices and food safety regulations.
Excellent analytical skills to identify trends, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional travel to various production facilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
May involve working in environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
