Position Summary
We are currently recruiting a Human Resources Manager, reporting the Human Resources Director. This role will help define, create, and implement strategies with significant emphasis on Performance Management, Organizational Development, and Employment Law.
Description of Duties:
- Work closely with the Labor Relations Manager to establish strategic Employee/Labor Relations initiatives covering approximately 700 unionized employees to meet company objectives and strategic plans
- Identify, develop and implement policies/procedures to ensure regulatory compliance with human resources practices
- Coordinate recruitment and staffing of production/maintenance, professional and executive level positions for two manufacturing locations and one international sales office
- Evaluate and recommend base wages, salary, executive compensation and benefits programs that are competitive in the market and ensure legal compliance with legal requirements
- Provide strategic counsel, coaching and direction to business managers regarding general HR matters and labor relations situations
- Provide leadership by developing and implementing human resource strategies and initiatives
- Evaluate the organization's future workforce needs in order to recommend changes to the organization's human resource strategy and adapt existing current human resource programs to meet these needs
- Accountable for policy recommendations to support long-term strategy planning
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of human resource professionals to ensure that the organization's human resource strategy is implemented effectively and within established budgets and that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards
- Collect and analyze HR data in order to make recommendations to business unit management
- Use knowledge of various human resources functions, including staffing, compensation, performance management, benefits administration, learning and development, succession planning, and employee relations to provide tactical HR support the AGY team
- Recommend and drive execution of programs and policies that create or reinforce a positive employee relations atmosphere
- Prepare internal employee communications regarding company policies
- Organize event committee activities to drive employee engagement
- Lead human resources programs including recruitment, orientation, training, compensation, and onboarding activities
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, a related field or equivalent experience
- 10 years relevant HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment
- HR experience in a union environment preferred
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership, trusted advisor, and internal consulting capabilities
- Experience delivering HR partnership and thought leadership in global organizations, outstanding cultural awareness skill set, strategic insight
- Ability to manage HR Programs in a complex business environment
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with ability to apply quantitative analysis to HR programs
- Strong business acumen and people acumen, and ability to influence business leaders at an executive level
- Requires advanced knowledge of governmental regulations and general HR practices
- Must have experience resolving a wide range of employee relations concerns
- Advanced communication skills is essential
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary : $88,800 - $112,000
