POSITION SUMMARY:
Full Time - Days
The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current local, state and federal standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator to ensure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation; including, but not limited to:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities and coordinate those services and activities with other related departments
- Conduct regular rounds of the facility to check all maintenance zones to ensure the quality control and safety, health and welfare of patients, employees, families, visitors in the facility, and correct or report equipment failure or damage to the Administrator immediately
- Make daily repairs as needed
- Interpret the Department’s policies and procedures to employees, patients, visitors, and government agencies
- Complete forms, reports, evaluations and studies to ensure control of equipment and supplies
- Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of that plan to Administration
- Review departmental complaints and grievances from personnel, patients, visitors, etc., and make written report of action to be taken for correction
- Serve on related committees and report on maintenance services as required by the committee’s guidelines or objectives
Required Work Experience:
- One (1) year experience in a maintenance/plant supervisory position
Licensing/Certification/Education Requirements:
- Technical degree in maintenance field, to include electrical, mechanical, general construction
Other Requirements:
- Position may require unscheduled overtime, week-end work
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours
- Travel required
Physical Requirements:
- Includes both climate-controlled and extreme temperatures
- Moderate to heavy physical effort; lifting to sixty-five (65) pounds is required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises, trains, provides work direction, and problem solving for other workers
