An Associate is a position of leadership within our firm. The position requires an individual who is able to manage several architectural projects of varying magnitude. Persons in this position will report to the Principal in charge. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Researches zoning accessibility and building code
Investigates, evaluates, and recommends design solutions
Provides consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects
Assists in preparing construction documents under direction of others
Prepares presentation, design drawings, and details
Carries out assignments requiring development of new/improved techniques/procedures
Attends meetings with and coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors
Applies knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad array of assignments
Responsible for gaining approval of materials
Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
Conducts site visits and prepares field reports
Makes decisions on architectural design problems and methods
Supervises/Manages large staff of architects and/or technicians (4 )
Acts independently regarding architectural methods and complexities
Performs work requiring independent judgement in evaluation, selection, and adaption/modification of techniques, procedures and criteria
Responsible for developing firm-wide design standards
Actively manages client budgets, schedules & programs
Works independently on architectural design projects
Plans and develops architectural projects concerning unique complexities
Handles complex projects of the largest magnitude
Serves as primary client liaison
Assigns and manages project team
Prepares strategic plans for project success
REQUIREMENT FOR APPLICANTS
Minimum of ten (10) years of (architectural) experience
Master or Bachelor of Architecture (professional degree required)
Individual must be a licensed Architect
Managed 5-7 substantial projects from Schematic Design through completion
Experience in multi-family and mixed-use projects
LEED AP, LEED BD C
Knowledge of architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp
Knowledge of architectural vocabulary and concepts
Knowledge of code and zoning
Knowledge of architectural detailing
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
Knowledge of business operations, human resources and management principles
Knowledge of all aspects of architecture
