Accountant
We are a growing, family-owned and run business with a great team dynamic and are looking for just the right person to hire as an accountant. This position reports to the controller (owner) and would be involved in all aspects of financial accounting.
The right candidate will be dependable, flexible, positive, analytical, willing to learn new things, a great communicator both orally and in writing. Initiative and problem solving a must.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the accounting cycle. Must be strong in Microsoft Excel. Experience in Crystal Reports and database queries a plus but not required.
Reports to: Owner
Duties: Include but are not limited to
Managing/training/supervision customer service representatives (CSR’s). Setting the standard through leadership example while maintaining a positive work atmosphere. Keeping the pulse of the CSR team and insuring professional, quality service while enforcing company policies. Assigning additional tasks and projects as needed. Training new hires and equipping existing personnel to grow in their knowledge of customer service, company policies and system analysis and operation. Key input in establishing and maintaining company policy regarding customer service.
- · Analyze and reconcile various accounts including accounts receivable, bank accounts, withholding accounts, insurance
· Update budget information, various analysis projects for management (costs per stop, route profitability etc)
· Calculate hours and accruals and transmit to payroll service. Maintain employee payroll, benefits, and driver files as applicable. Responsible for remitting wage garnishments and account reconciliations. New hires and terminations including insurance withholding calculations.
· Enter and pay vendor invoices. Resolve any account discrepancies with vendors. Communicate with shop re core deposits and any new credit accounts.
Other possibilities depending on candidates experience and skill set:
· (CSR’s). Training new hires and equipping existing personnel to grow in their knowledge of customer service, company policies and system analysis and operation. Key input in establishing and maintaining company policy regarding customer service.
· We outsource our IT tasks so this role would function as point of contact. Point person for reporting/resolving software system requests or issues. Able to clearly define and document problem or outline requested report. Able to write queries and reports for use in business analysis.
Skills/requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Knowledge of accounting principles
· Attentive to detail but able to keep big picture in focus.
· Strong written and verbal communicator with both management, staff, and 3rd parties
· Independent thinker—good logic/problem-solving
