THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (Title 32), Position Description Number D1718000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.

Qualifications:

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:

  • The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
  • The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
  • The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
  • The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
  • The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.

Military Grades: Officer: Not to exceed Col.
Commissioning Opportunity: Must submit documentation from Military Personnel Flight to provide proof of eligibility for commission.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration; compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 LEVEL - MUST possess least 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions; experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.

Responsibilities:

As a MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (Title 32), GS-0301-12, you will serve as the Senior Medical Officer for the entire installation, including tenant unit(s) and Geographically Separated Units (GSU) with responsibility for directing and managing all medical administrative functions including medical support, medical operations, force health management, force health protection, healthcare management, and related health applications.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
  • Implement the medical portion of the Designed Operational Capability (DOC) Statement of the unit.
  • Develop and implement unit plans for execution of deployments In support of the USAF Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) requirements and contingency objectives to meet USAF and Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) goals.
  • Direct work to be accomplished by the base medical and bioenvironmental programs, ensuring each is developed and implemented according to applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, medical readiness requirements, and the overall integrity of medical information and technology, force health management programs, and initiatives which operate to maintain and ensure a fit and ready force.

  • Interpret, implement and administer laws, procedures, regulations and directives pertaining to various Air National Guard (Surgeon General or Medical) stand-alone, networked, or web-based medical systems including Preventative Health Assessment and Individual Medical Readiness (PIMR), Aerospace Services Information Management System (ASIMS), Aero medical Information Management Waiver Tracking System (AIMWTS), Grounding Management Information System (GMIS) Self-Inspection Database (SID), Central Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS), Air Force Complete Immunization Tracking Application (AFCITA), Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System-Hearing Conservation (DOEHRS-HC), Environmental Management Information Systems (EMIS), Automated Civil Engineering System - Environmental Management (ACES-EM), or Enterprise Environmental Safety Occupational Health (EESOH) database, Command Core System (CCS), and Web-Based Integrated Tracking System (WBITS).
  • Perspective and advice contribute substantially to management's ability to train and equip assigned personnel in light of dynamic and evolving medical environments.
  • Represent and speak on behalf of the Wing Commander with regard to ANG Medical Management issues with representatives of the NGB, the Office of the Adjutant General/Joint State Headquarters, and other military components.
  • Control utilization of health services program funds in collaboration with Medical Group Commander, Medical Group Executive Management Committee, Wing Commander, and Wing Comptroller.
  • Ensure the installation maintains a strong viable human weapons system force fit for worldwide deployability.
  • Collaborate with the Wing Commander and other senior management officials in the planning and development of short-term and long-term strategies for implementation of the Wing Strategic Plan.
  • Attend staff meetings, formal briefings, and spontaneous informal sessions chaired or called by operations, unit deployments, exercises, and readiness or compliance inspections levied by USAF MAJCOM Inspector General's offices and other auditing agencies.

Salary : $82,830 - $107,680
