Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Intern to join our Communications department based in Herndon, VA.
Meet the team:Our Communications team members provide effective communications to support a variety of Airbus programs through strategic internal, external, social media and crisis communications. We are fluent in all areas of digital communications, media and public relations. We use available channels and tools, as well as crafting new ones. We partner with business units throughout Airbus to position the company as a brand of choice for external customers and employees alike. Join the Communications team and help tell the Airbus story.
Your working environment:The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices: In our nation's capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the extensive role the company plays in the aviation, aerospace and defense industries in the U.S. and around the world. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters - located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) - it makes flying in a breeze!

Your challenges:- Support Airbus Americas Internal Communications network with the creation and posting of regional and local content to company intranet and in-house television network
- Ensure latest poster campaign is visible and up to date in all Northern VA and DC sites, and support creation of case required to transition from printed posters to digital displays
- Support traditional and social media comms planning
- Work with Marketing team to ensure latest fleet information is updated in press materials
- Support media visits by helping with the agenda, security registrations, media profiles, press kits, etc.
- Support organization of events, exhibitions and demo tour planning
- Coordinate and/or provide logistical support during a local events
- Handle mass mailings, event invitations, RSVPs, etc.
- Design and publish invitations, event programs, brochures, record and edit short videos
- Support in maintaining customer giveaways and promotional items inventory
- Support team with maintaining US entries updated in the global Airbus Communications Radar
- Compile PR agency activity reports
- Support PR Agency and media requests for Airbus assets such as videos, images and fact sheets
- Support Performance Management initiatives, including the maintenance of a Communications Dashboard, reporting and metrics
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, required
- Journalism and Communications majors are encouraged to apply
- Interest in the aerospace industry, required - Aviation knowledge, a plus
- Currently located in the Herndon, VA/DC Metro area, required
- Ability to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship, required
This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
