We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist. We’re a small team of casual people who love aviation, outdoor activities and mostly Alaska! It is critical that this person facilitates healthy and proactive communications from many cross-functional roles and departments. This position requires someone to be a key strategic partner for leadership and a valuable resource for team members. You will be responsible for the administration of all Human Resources functions for 4 locations in Palmer, Anchorage and Fairbanks. This position will be based at the Palmer corporate office with monthly travel to the other locations.


Responsibilities will depend on the applicants experience and abilities, but could include:


  • Administer and enforce HR policy, procedures, and company initiatives.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for all employees, onboard new hires and provide general orientation
  • Act as a business partner with managers and supervisors to communicate policies, procedures, programs, and laws. Advise managers regarding employment issues.
  • Coordinate with managers on employee development, engagement, motivation, and retention of employees
  • Administer the company benefits program (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, AD&D, 401(k), HSA, Cobra) including new hire benefits and open enrollment; answering employee questions regarding benefits; entering and updating benefit information in HRIS and provider websites; annual renewal pricing and negotiations
  • Support payroll with maintaining and reviewing payroll processing system to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, changes to pay rates, approving timesheets
  • Handling workplace investigations, disciplinary and termination procedures, resolving conflicts through positive and professional mediation
  • Manage workers compensation program, including initial reporting, modified duty, audits and employee issues.. Responsible for annual OSHA reporting.
  • Responsible for managing separations and exit interviews
  • Responsible for data entry and data management related to HR Information System.
  • Maintain and administer performance evaluation through HRIS system
  • Ensure legal compliance to Federal, State and Labor laws in Alaska
  • Prepare and organize company events

Education and Experience:

  • Five plus years professional HR experience including all stages of the HR lifecycle
  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and innovatively
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative work environment
  • Ability to draft correspondence, edit and complete reports independently
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills

Salary : $50,700 - $64,200
