What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Airswift North America?

Airswift is working with one of our major clients to find a Lab Technician to join their team on an 11-month contract in Richmond, CA.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • It is a high volume laboratory that requires fast turnaround time, the capability to set different test methods in aqueous and organic media
  • The successful candidate would prepare samples for Inductively Coupled Plasma techniques (ICP-OES/MS), using different sample preparation methods such as direct dilution, microwave-assisted acid digestion, and fusion.
  • The analyst would review large volumes of data and interpret quality control; applicants must have proper planning, organizing, and flexibility skills.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing with supervisors, peers, facility support people, project customers, and suppliers; document all experiments, data, and analyses in laboratory notebooks and spreadsheets; write standard operating procedures, technical reports, peer review articles, and presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • More than 2 years of demonstrated experience in the analytical laboratory running ICP analysis
  • BSc in Chemistry, environmental chemistry, Biochemistry or STEM-related
  • Proficient with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Ability to keep information organized and confidential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry desired
  • Excellent manual dexterity and eyesight to carry out work on tiny objects with precision tools
  • The ability to maintain and troubleshoot lab apparatus is highly desirable

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $24.00 per hour
