What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Airswift North America?
Airswift is working with one of our major clients to find a Lab Technician to join their team on an 11-month contract in Richmond, CA.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- It is a high volume laboratory that requires fast turnaround time, the capability to set different test methods in aqueous and organic media
- The successful candidate would prepare samples for Inductively Coupled Plasma techniques (ICP-OES/MS), using different sample preparation methods such as direct dilution, microwave-assisted acid digestion, and fusion.
- The analyst would review large volumes of data and interpret quality control; applicants must have proper planning, organizing, and flexibility skills.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing with supervisors, peers, facility support people, project customers, and suppliers; document all experiments, data, and analyses in laboratory notebooks and spreadsheets; write standard operating procedures, technical reports, peer review articles, and presentations.
Required Qualifications:
- More than 2 years of demonstrated experience in the analytical laboratory running ICP analysis
- BSc in Chemistry, environmental chemistry, Biochemistry or STEM-related
- Proficient with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Ability to keep information organized and confidential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Chemistry desired
- Excellent manual dexterity and eyesight to carry out work on tiny objects with precision tools
- The ability to maintain and troubleshoot lab apparatus is highly desirable
