Human Resources Manager
Profile Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager, reporting to the General Manager of Human Resources, will be responsible for assisting in overseeing HR management and operations. In collaboration with another HR Manager, Assistant Managers, Specialists, and Clerks, this position will oversee certain aspects of HR which might include recruitment, employee relations, training and development and assist in other areas as needed. This position will not have payroll and benefits responsibilities but may assist as needed in these areas.
The ideal candidate will support the creation of an atmosphere in which Management and the Employees can communicate with each other to support early detection and prevention of employee relations issues, support and clearly communicate the company's purpose, values, and objectives to foster a sense of excellence, and lead in the development and maintenance of a pristine office and plant environment. The HR Manager must also fully understand employment laws and all company policies to provide support for both TMs and the company to operate legally and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Human Resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
- Develop and ensure HR business priorities are met per plans and schedules.
- Manage all HR related activities, including legal & policy compliance, assist with budget control, company culture, support and relationship building with manufacturing.
- Develop and execute employee development activities, including performance mgmt., promotion, succession planning, career development, organizational planning, developing leadership training plans and other training as needed.
- Implement human resources strategies through department accountabilities for recruitment, training, and development.
- Assist in developing human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements.
- Accomplish special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities.
- Provide guidance on employee relations strategy, including investigation of issues, state/government programs and compliance with legal requirements, disciplinary actions, development & coaching support.
- Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
- Establish best practices for all HR activities.
- Establish or maintain department KPIs and systems to track and visualize results.
- Ensure consistent policy implementation.
- Build relationships with all employees to foster a more open and communicative environment that provides support to all employees in relation to understanding the company and its policies.
- Establish and maintain confidential information strategy and policies.
- Build Mid to Long-term hiring plans based on sales volume.
- Develop budget and executing labor cost management.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field.
8 to 10 years' experience in Human Resources Function.
5 to 8 years or more in a leadership role
Comprehensive understanding of all employment laws and standards.
Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated, self-directing, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, Power Point), able to create documents, graphs, and databases.
Must be able to work outside typical business hours according to business needs.
Reasonable business travel required according to business needs.
Five (5) years or more experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
Human Resources Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
