What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Aita - Clinton Hill?
Aita (and our speakeasy cocktail bar right next door called Mayflower) has been serving the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn since 2012 with sister restaurants Aita Trattoria (Crown Heights) and LaRina (Fort Greene) nearby. As an Italian restaurant we cook elegant, rustic, honest food that brings back traditional and nostalgic flavors. Chef/Owner Roberto Aita's menu changes seasonally and is driven by local farms and green markets.
Our wine list consists of natural, small production wines focusing mainly on Italy with a handful of other European and New World labels. The spirits program highlights local, sustainably-made spirits with a heavy focus on Amaro and Aperitivo, many of which are minority and/or women-owned. The cocktail list is also seasonal - our OG Negroni, Negroni Bianco, and the Venetian-style Spritz are what we're most known for.
The front-of-house team is led by General Manager/Co-owner Althea Codamon, formerly of Union Square Hospitality Group, Crafted Hospitality, Happy Cooking Hospitality, Epicurean Restaurants, and others. She has spent the last decade working in restaurants and bars all throughout New York City after graduating from The Culinary Institute of America and aims to share her passion, knowledge, and excitement for hospitality (and all things food & beverage) in a way that excites and motivates her team.
Who we are looking for: reliable, punctual, intuitive go-getters with a deep love for hospitality, an eagerness to learn, and genuine desire to be a part of a progressive and diverse team.
--We are looking to hire a seasoned, professional, and kind server or server/bartender to join our team. Bartending and/or barista experience is a plus but not required. This position is part-time (2-4 shifts) with the opportunity to pick up more shifts as desired or as they become available. Must be open to working at least one weekend brunch to start. Our brunch is unlike most other restaurants - it is very busy yet very organized, the shifts are short (4-5 hours) but lucrative.
