Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Santa Clara Health Center. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing pharmacy services, including support for COVID-19 vaccination clinics. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care Services:
Greet patients warmly and assist with inquiries over the phone.
Aid in processing and filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
Assist in managing medication inventory to ensure availability and compliance.
Provide assistance in delivering prescriptions to patients during curbside service.
Support in COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics:
Welcome patients attending vaccination clinics with professionalism and courtesy.
Verify and organize patient paperwork for vaccination procedures.
Administer vaccines to patients if certified to do so, following established protocols.
Administrative Support Duties:
Facilitate the ordering and organization of medication inventory.
Manage the inventory of COVID-19 vaccines, including monitoring expiration dates.
Prepare comprehensive reports on vaccine inventory and anticipate supply needs.
Ensure the work area is organized, clean, and ready for efficient operation.
Provide additional support services as directed by the pharmacist.
Cultural Sensitivity and Communication:
Work collaboratively with interpreters to assist patients with limited English proficiency.
Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse cultural, indigenous, religious, and belief backgrounds.
Work Schedule and Breaks:
Work Shift: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Breaks: Two 15-minute personal breaks (morning and afternoon) and one 30-minute lunch break.
Overtime: No authorized overtime hours under this contract.
Additional Requirements:
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in handling patient information.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including Department of Labor Laws and Regulations.
Must be willing to remain on duty until the clinic and pharmacy are closed, if necessary.
Report additional clinical service time accurately on time sheets.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred.
Immunization certification (if administering vaccines).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
