The Role
We are looking for an HR Generalist to help support our growing business. This role will be responsible for driving people focused initiatives throughout the life-cycle of our employees, which may include: Onboarding/Off-boarding, Operations, Benefits Administration, Compensation, Career path/levels, Employee Engagement, Training and Development, Immigration, and Policies. This is an opportunity for someone who is a self-starter, intellectually curious, and passionate about building people practices that scale with the business. This role will report to the Head of HR.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with associates and leaders on all aspects of HR to support the business, our associates, and our leaders
- Learning & Development: Help to build a continuous learning culture by creating learning paths related to development opportunities, including manager development, recruiting/interviewing skills, leadership/executive presence, etc.
- Benefits Administration: You will manage all aspects of benefits administration, including design, broker engagement, market reviews, compliance and administration.
- Associate Experience: You will partner with members of the team to enhance and/or develop a best in class associate experience throughout their engagement with Akoya
- Policy/Procedures: Review, develop and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal and statutory requirements
- Immigration: You will partner with our Immigration Attorney and act as the liaison between employees and legal team for all concerns related to immigration and VISA’s
- HRIS Management: Maintains employee data and files in compliance with records retention policy and applicable legal requirements
- Other projects as needed
The Experience You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or similar field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years working to help scale HR/People processes and initiatives to enable business growth
- Technical knowledge and experience supporting a variety of People disciplines, including benefits administration, performance management, manager/employee development, employee engagement, career path/structures, and employee relations
- Passion for building and enhancing both processes and programs to create best in class experience for associates throughout their life-cycle with Akoya
- Self-starter – highly proactive and ‘plugged in’ to the wider HR community
- Data driven - Has worked on data quality, data integrity and reporting dashboards
- Tech savvy, with an understanding of HRIS implementations and processes (ADP Workforce Now and Greenhouse Recruiting experience preferred).
- Proficient in HR compliance matters across a variety of states, including Massachusetts and California
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Strong bias for action, a keen sense of urgency and the ability to drive impactful results
