What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cytogeneticist position at Akron Children's Hospital?

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a PhD Cytogeneticist or MD/DO Pathologist with cytogenetics experience and ABMGG certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. This is a new position to support growth initiatives in these areas. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Akron Children’s is staffed by eight Pathologists and three PhD directors and is a regional referral center for comprehensive laboratory tests for cytogenetics, molecular genetics, and infectious diseases. The successful candidate will join the growing team and will be responsible for cytogenetics interpretation and reporting of constitutional and cancer cases processed with G-banding, FISH, and microarray. The position is predominantly clinical in focus, with clinically oriented research opportunities available.
