Summary:
The Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing departments/or specific unit quality and performance improvement. Including identifying trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, complete required reports for specific areas.
Responsibilities:
1. Is responsible for collecting, processing, and coordinating information pertaining to quality and performance improvement for the Department of Nursing.
2. Leads interdisciplinary teams in identifying, prioritizing and implementing improvement projects.
3. Uses data collected to lead the organization to further performance improvement actions. so that the Hospital staff may identify areas for improvement.
4. Monitors clinical, operational, and organizational performance to ensure patient safety and promote quality outcomes for the patient, family, and staff.
5. Prepares and analyzes data to report to performance and utilization committees.
6. Assists departments in implementing evidence based practice.
7. Facilitates and assists departments in enhancing the Hospital’s performance improvement efforts.
8. Understands and adheres to regulatory standards as they apply to performance improvement.
9. Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. Experience in project management with interdisciplinary team is required.
2. Experience working with all levels within an organization, demonstrated initiative, and good professional judgement is required.
3. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Proficient in MS Office Suite [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Epic software or similar EMR software is required.
Education and Experience
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
2. Certification: Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Ohio is required. Current Health Care Provider BLS training from the American Heart Association required. Additional specific certifications may be required based on the department or unit requirements. Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
