Job Title: Career Tech Teacher - Anticipated

Director of Career and Technical Education
Job Goals:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or
- Valid teaching certificate in an appropriate area as identified by the Alabama State Department of Education or eligible for certification through a Career Tech and/or Teacher Certification
- Family and Consumer Science Certified
- Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication
- Ability to be punctual and in regular
- Ability to plan, lead, manage, evaluate, and implement programs for student
- Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Plan programs of study that align to local and state curriculum guides and meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation in the form of lesson plans upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Encourage students to take an active role in the learning process and encourage them to set and maintain high standards of personal
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and -in harmony with the goals- -establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc. to communicate these objectives to
- Strive to implement, by instruction and action, the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and
- Assess and communicate student progress or lack of progress to students and parents on a regular basis and provide progress reports as
- Assess students’ abilities as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and student outcomes and seek the assistance of district specialists as
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative
- Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules for classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so within
- Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for aide(s) and volunteer(s) cooperatively with the principal and
- Exhibit effective human relations
- Attend staff meetings, as required, and serve on staff committees as
- Assist in daily duties, of which may be car duty, extra-curricular duties whenever students are involved in school
- Encourage students to set and maintain high standards of classroom
- Provide students with the opportunities to attend local, state and national competitions when approved by the
- Reports potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory
- Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive
- Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local
- Performs any other job-related duties as
