Prosthetic Technician/Fabricator I

Summary: Entry Level Candidate eager to learn and support amputees by creating custom made prosthesis. No previous knowledge of prosthetics is needed. On-the-Job Training (OJT) and further instructions on prosthetic fabrication skills and development will be provided.

Typical Tasks:

1) Fabricate, alter, repair, modify or maintain prosthetic devices according to technical and/or medical specifications from Clinician for medical device within a timely manner.

2) Test devices for accuracy of specifications and verify conformance to quality standards.

3) Maintain organization of documents, tools, and prosthetic devices.
4) Work with Production Team in construction of quality of fabrication and process.
5) Receive verbal and written instructions from Production Team and/or Clinicians for production tasks and applied methods.

Physical Requirements:

6) Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to but not limited to 50 pounds without difficulty.

7) Ability and coordination to apply safe methods for heavier loads with the use of a Pallet Jack, Hand Truck, Cart, Portable Dolly and/or tools in an organized manner while supporting the Team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must understand machines and tools and have hand skills. Must have the ability to see details at close range, to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position, to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects, to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing, to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

Education and Experience Requirements: Knowledge of Anatomy (Preferred)
