Job Summary

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Document workshops, professional development/learning or training
related to providing services to at-risk students (low-income and first-
generation students) which includes increasing retention and
graduation rates, as well as academic achievement. Additional
training preferred includes academic advising, counseling, and financial
assistance; grant management; grant writing; program management;
progress monitoring; and/or educational intervention programs.

Other skills include:
Strong soft skills desired such as leadership, communication interpersonal,
teamwork, problem-solving, work ethic, and flexibility/adaptability; ability
to creatively motivate, empower and recognize students; visual, auditory
and ambulatory ability; excellent verbal and written communication skills;
conflict management skills; strong organizational skills; empathetic;
positive relationship builder; ability to track, report and analyze data;
assist with input of student and staff data for reporting requirements;
and proficient in Microsoft Office, Email and other databases.

Essential Job Functions
The Project Director will manage recruitment and delivery of program
services for the program as well as create and sustain a diverse and
inclusive work and learning environment.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in education, student development, counseling, learning
disabilities or other related field. Three to five years of experience (1) working
in a TS or other TRIO program or a past participant in a TS or TRIO program;
(2) working effectively with low-income, first generation, and students with
disabilities in need of academic assistance; (3) collaborating with college
personnel and outside agencies; (4) providing individual and group counseling;
(5) supervising staff; and (6) managing grants, including budgeting and
program management.
