Aldrich Services provides operational management services to the Aldrich Group of Companies. The Aldrich Group of Companies is comprised of individual companies providing accounting, auditing, tax compliance, international consulting, business valuation, financial planning, wealth management and business consulting services to our clients.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The role is to manage and tune in-house systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This position also participates in planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
This role can work in a remote or hybrid capacity, but it will be critical to be local and available to work in or near our Lake Oswego, Oregon office regularly.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
- Coordinate with business application and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
- Deploy workstations, servers, printers/scanners, networking equipment, encryption systems, and host security systems.
- Manage communications and connectivity solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, wide area networks, and Internet applications.
- Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
- Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
- Mentor and provide guidance to team members.
- Serve as an escalation point for technicians and administrators.
- Partner with internal teams to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
- Create and update documentation for runbooks, manuals, and policies.
Knowledge & Experience
- College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems.
- Proven experience as a Senior System Administrator, Network Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, Microsoft Azure, Teams, OneDrive and compliance tools
- Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Windows 10.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure Services including hybrid Azure AD environments, App protection, and Conditional Access policies preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policies.
- Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards such as TCP/IP, SSL, SSH, DHCP, and DNS.
- Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESX, vCenter, iSCSI, and SANs.
- Working knowledge of administrative scripting languages such as Powershell.
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps desired.
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with data management.
- Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
- Ability to contribute towards organization's goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Resourceful and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
