Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our client in San Antonio, TX. Interested?
Here's what you'd do:
- Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of leave administration duties.
- The position needs an understanding of FMLA, Parental Leave, disability plans, and ADA Accommodations.
- Process leave administration emails and service tickets according to institution policy.
- Ensures leave requests are processed accurately and promptly.
- Respond to team member leave inquiries by evaluating or escalating questions to the Sr. HR Leave Administration, HR Generalists, Senior HR Managers, HR Operations, and HRIS Director as needed.
- Performs customer service functions by answering team member requests and questions.
- Assists with the administration of leave of absence requests, including FMLA, Parental Leave, disability plans, ADA Accommodations, and general leave of absence.
- Processes needed documents through a third-party leave administrator, department, timekeeping, and Human Resources to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Review the time entry system for accurate recording of team member leaves.
- Audits payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommends corrective action related to the team member leave request.
- Assists with processing terminations related to employees on leave.
- Works with the HR Benefits Team to coordinate team members' transition from leave to retirement.
- Schedules meetings and leave reviews as requested by the Sr. Leave Administrator or HR Department.
- Makes photocopies, emails, scans, and email documents and performs other clerical functions.
- Maintains all team member leave files.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 3 years of FMLA, Leave of Absence, Parental leave processing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of leave processing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of general office experience, including Microsoft Office products, Teams, Excel, and Word.
- Minimum of 2 years speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish and English
- Knowledge of Higher Education state leave policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of leave administration, human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
